Poem/Random Thoughts

Random Thoughts-

I find that I am troubled-
Troubled by the thought of losing you-
And knowing that one day-
I may not see you anymore-
I may not be able to see your face-
Hear your laugh or feel you next to me-
I find that I am troubled-
Knowing that I may not be here-
And time is running out-
I would like to know what life,
would be like here in the next hundred years-
But for now all I have is the knowledge of knowing-
Im not going to waste my time-
I'm going to laugh with you-
Love with you-
Play with you-
And keep precious moments of you-
Fresh in my mind-
Because some day this will all end-
And I have the gift of knowing-
Im not going to waste my time-

So what should I say? Poem

There are no stars or moon in the sky-
No message from heaven-
No shooting star tonight-
And I missed the sunset today-
So what should I say?
I will survive-
I'll learn to get by-
But that's not how I feel-
So what should I say?
I'm having a bad day today-
There's no rainbow to see-
No sun to feel across my face-
Hopelessness has found me-
And I'm feeling all alone-
Too many problems I see up ahead-
So many obstacles and hills I can't climb-
Too many times I've been knocked on the ground-
And now I need my time alone-
To get all my strength to take me back home-
There are no stars-
Or moon in the sky-
No message from heaven-
No shooting star tonight-

It's an old poem I wrote years ago. It's one of my fave's. For more poetry and recipes and blogs please visit http://www.janiepoetry.com/ thank you-

Chasing Time

I'm running all day-
I'm chasing time-
Trying not to lose my mind-
Finding out truth-
Stepping into the light-
Hand on the trigger-
Facing my fears-
My ravenous soul-
Searching for answers-
That I may never find-
I'm constantly moving-
Movement keeps me going-
Trying not to think of all the impossibilites-
Rather embracing all that I can-
Each tick-tock reminds me-
The sand in the hour glass is slipping away-
Finding out truth-
Stepping into the light-
My patience inside me is like a burning fire-
Slowing down will only make me stagger-
I'm chasing time-
Finding out truth-
Stepping into the light-

hair appointments, buffets and Boyz II Men...

It's been a while since I last wrote in here. I've been so busy with life...
We ended up not doing the play. I was upset about it, I'm still upset about it but I am graciously trying to move on. Let's see these past two weeks have been filled with, taking my daughter to get her hair cut by my nephew who is in school. He did a great job! Although in our family nothing can just happen quietly and simple. We had a few mishaps at the salon. We just wouldn't be Zavala's if we were silent and still. We caused a commotion as usual. My nephew accidentally sprayed me with the water hose, and Sarah's hair took a long time to color. A week past by filled with school days, homework and lots of writing, baking, puzzles, eating, more eating. Oh, so my mom and my sister and my seven year old daughter were doing this 500 piece Charlie Brown puzzle, they were so cute working on it every night. It seemed to be the impossible puzzle. Then one morning my husband and I started to work on it and we finished it in an hour. Yesterday they finished another puzzle of a man fishing. It is a beautiful puzzle. We also went to the buffet at Planet Hollywood and then to see Boyz II Men at the Flamingo. It was a great show! We danced and sang and laughed. It was such a special night because we also had my daughter and my nephew with us. Now I am looking forward to a week of last minute shopping and Christmas around the corner and we are making Tamales the day before Christmas Eve! I'm sure that's going to be a long blog. It's always so much fun my sisters and my mom making tamales. My new years resolutions is to write more, blog more and work on my website every day....at least Mon- Fri.

Since November 18th...

The last time I wrote in here was November 18th. So much has happened since then.
Thanksgiving was wonderful. The whole family was at my house, there was plenty of food,
and even though, it was chaotic at times; we all managed to go around the tables and say
what we were all most thankful for individually. My sisters all had great speeches. My one
sister, who doesn't want me to name her in my blogs, lets just call her Elizabeth...ha ha lol....
She had such a great speech that we all declared, we would vote for her as President.
My eldest sister, who is like a second mother to all of us had a great big sister speech.
Her and my mom wore matching shirts. My brother went around the room taking pictures of
everyone. Then, after we had all eaten sooo much; we moved into the living room for the
"Talent Show" my nephew Tom is sooo talented that he was an honorary entertainer.

My husband and I sang- Come together by the Beatles. My brother was the MC and had to
tell us all to shut up, because, we all want to talk at the same time. He was really funny and had
plenty of jokes and introduced us all differently. My eldest sister Nora, and my mom, and my
sister Elizabeth were judges. After ,we had all sang our hearts out, and my daughters and I had
a skit, and my youngest Emma and Sarah did a dance; there was a plethora of talent.

My daughter Sarah won, with her version of Loretta Lynn Stand By Your Man. It was an incredible Thanksgiving.

Now, we have moved on to Christmas. I wrote a play, yes I wrote a play and we are going to perform it on Christmas Eve. There is costume changes, sets, and I am directing. I will be filming it, and posting it later. So needless to say we have all been very busy! I have found that I love writing plays and I am going to be writing more plays. I've cleaned my house, and there is a pile of laundry waiting for me, and I have to do some finishing touches on the play, before everyone comes over to practise today. I am blessed, to have such a wonderful family, with so much talent and artistic ability.
